Starbucks was established in 1971 by partners who met at university in Seattle.  Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker. In 1982 Howard Schultz joins Starbucks as Director of Retail Operations and Marketing and his vision and strategy has grown the coffee chain into a global brand.
